Some drunk decided to run the wrong way into me last night:

I walked away a little bruised, that's all. My truck on the other hand:

Hopefully Tim doesn't have a wife and brood of kids, but I bet he had a Mom. I'm not excusing his choices (b/c he did pay till now he can't pay no more), but 35 is so young to go. Sad.

DR what a shitty night you must of had. I'm sorry this happened to you. Thank God you were not hurt.

DR1971 glad you weren't hurt. The truck can be repaired/replaced. Hopefully "Tim" was well insured, both for your sake and that of his survivors.

Careful there "S", when you show compassion for the "wrong" side you open yourself up to all sorts of ugly retorts. As John Hiatt once said, "Take it from a fool who knows."

AP is a unfriendly denizen of your other bar. Likes some marginal steroid-ridden baseball player quite a bit. One might say in a wanting and needing manner having nothing to do with gambling or familial affection. You could picture his inner sanctum filled with posters and other player memorabilia he can touch.

Oh. That AP. He changed his "handle" when aforementioned sports star packed his bag and moved to greener pastures.

Enough chest beating. This would go down real easy on a Sunday morning. I like those sneaky-ish P&W songs.

Good to hear you survived that. I guess you are getting sorer as time goes on. That kind of thing could give you a heart attack. What was that he was driving, Chevrolet Avalanche? and yours is Frieghtliner? You were fortunate you had that much vehicle.

When I saw the thread I thought it was about the song.
I was listening to a good show last night that I recommend;

You know a lot of people put in a lot of road miles to see shows. It might make an interesting thread to share road stories.

Again, glad to see you are ok.

He was driving a 2001 Honda Ridgeline. My truck was a 2011 Freightliner Cascadia. By the way this was the first time I ever drove this truck. My old one was sold off. It was issued to me the day before, and I had to drive a rental car from Lincoln, NE to Ottawa, IL to pick it up. I put a grand total of 188 miles on this tractor. My stop for the night was going to be Lake Station, IN just a couple miles from the accident scene. I sat at Nestle in De Kalb, IL for 4 hours getting loaded. This was supposed to be an 11am live load, but that driver was a no show, so at 3:45 pm it was reassigned to me.

Phil gets real jazzy on that Truckin'

Hey Sean, my Orioles are finally in a pennant race. It's been a real long time too. Damn Yankees!

Been a long time since the Birds had some October baseball. We should have never fired Buck in '95. Great manager. Now go get that ring!

And I'm glad you are Truckin' again.
